Safety Precautions

Please carefully review the following Safety Precautions before using Mizumoto’s chains, chain fittings, and rigging hardware (“products” or “product”). Failure to follow these warnings and precautions may result in serious accidents.

These guidelines are provided to ensure the safe and proper use of our products, as well as to prevent potential hazards and injuries to both users and others. Each point is critical for safety, so please be sure to follow them diligently.

WARNING

  • Never use the products to lift persons.

  • Never use the products overhead.

  • Notify us of the usage if you intend to use the products for hanging objects or in places affecting human lives.

  • All products wear out over time. Periodic checking and replacement is essential.

Important Safety Guidelines for Products

  • Periodic Inspection:
Regularly inspect stainless steel products, especially if they are exposed to harsh environments. While stainless steel is significantly more rust-resistant than iron, it is not completely immune to rust.

  • Galvanic Corrosion:
Inspect the condition of stainless steel products periodically if they are connected to other metals, as such usage may cause galvanic corrosion.

  • Proper Handling:
Always handle products with gloves or similar protective equipment to ensure safety during use.

  • Strength Considerations:
Be aware that products with plating, coating, or other surface treatments have lower strength compared to untreated products.

  • Load Limitations:
Never exceed the working load limit (WLL) specified in the product charts. Doing so may lead to failure and safety hazards.

  • Avoid Sudden Impacts:
Do not subject products to sudden or excessive impacts. Always apply loads gradually, especially with slack chains, as sudden forces can cause impact fractures, resulting in failure under lower loads than the specified WLL.

  • Prevent Twisting:
Ensure that any twisted product is fully untwisted before use. Using twisted products can lead to distortion or breakage under loads below the specified WLL.

  • Load Direction:
Always apply loads along the lengthwise direction of the product. Loading in other directions significantly reduces the product’s strength.

  • Avoid Angular Objects:
Do not use stainless steel products with sharp or angular objects, as sharp edges can cause pressure points, distortion, or flaws, reducing the product’s strength.

  • Replace Damaged Products:
Immediately stop using any product that shows signs of wear, breakage, flaws, or distortion, and replace it with a new one.

  • Temperature Limitations:
Do not use stainless steel products in environments with extreme temperatures (high or low) beyond room temperature, or in places with rapid temperature fluctuations.

  • Chemical Exposure:
Avoid using products in areas where chemicals, acids, or alkalis are present, as these substances can compromise the product's integrity.

  • Structural Integrity:
Never intentionally distort or weld the products. Altering their structure weakens their strength and makes them unsafe for use.
